The Dipsy Doodles appear on Mano Mundo Festival 2013!

Dear beloved audience & dancing feet,

The summer is near and for yet another season, the Dipsy Doodles’ feet are hot and very excited to do a dance for you, and with you! Our calendar will tell you where we will be.

Our next performance goes to Boom, where the we will appear on the SwingDansant of the Mano Mundo festival, on Sunday May 12.

DJANGOFOLLLIES 2013

The hit-in-the-rose collaboration between hot club swing band Nomad Swing & lindy hop dancetroupe The Dipsy Doodles, will appear on the amazing festival DJANGOFOLLLIES January 2013, touring the Belgian road in search for Django Reinhardts’ footsteps. Django was one of the most intruiging guitar players from the 30ies and 40ies, making his own music, and so also interpreting the popular swingmusic that was heard everywhere at that time.. Well, Django left people cry from the beauty that came out of his instrument. Come and have a wonderfull time and dream away to a time long goneby! On the menu: Swing Music & Swing Dance, brought to you by two teams with each their own love for Django!

Deurne, Bree, Mechelen…. that’s where the Hot Jazz is live on air!

With the summer turning at end, we don’t think of  stopping to spread our love for Lindy Hop and Hot Jazz!

September 8th and 9th, Dipsy’s had performances in Deurne, performing for many jazz dancers. Next was Bree, where the Dipsy’s appeared with the Swingzapoppin’ Streetact. Also, this weekend welcomed our new devoted dancer Barbora, from Prague. She will be joining many of our future performances!

September 16th, the Dipsy’s went to perform the Swingzapoppin’ Streetact in the streets of Jorisses’ hometown, Mechelen. A bright shiny day, people loved it!

A Dipsy here, a Dipsy there, what a HOT weekend!

Those Dipsy Doodles will perform, give taster classes and DJ this very Saturday at vintage lifestyle festival RETROPOLIS in the C-Mine in Genk. 3 days of over-the-top vintage entertainment, acts, music and what-not. On Sunday, they will be seen with stage act together with swing band NOMAD SWING at festival VILLA PACE (as part of the Vredesfeesten) in St-Niklaas, at 8pm sharp. A new team is formed – look forward for the new Dipsy Doodles!

Foremost– Thank you Helena Verheyen for having been a very vital and important member of the Dipsy Doodles from the start. We wish you all the luck in your dance carreer, shake it like a Shimmy in Canada and Germany. All the best, Helena!

In the meanwhile, we have made the auditions and we have 5 new crazy Dipsy Doodles! We invite Guillaume Dragonetti, Irene Ragusini (GR / ITA) , Barbora Hrebackova (CZ) , Leni Denorme & Simon Lagrange. Welcome!

Swingzapoppin! will continue and there are many shows sceduled through the summer and beyond. We will continue to preform with Begium’s oldest bigband West Music Club, and as time goes, we are making new projects work!

Dear dancer!

‘The Dipsy Doodles’ search all-round swingdancers with ambition for theatrical dance-performances. We dance Lindy Hop, Charleston and Authentic Jazz, choreographed as well as improvised.

YOU ARE:

* an enthousiastic Jazzdance/swingjazz lover and dancer!

* willing to learn a lot from the group and wanting to learn choreographies – and creating own material.

* available for frequent performances and weekly rehearsal in Ghent.

WE OFFER:
* work with experienced jazzdancers and performers.

* very nice, alive and kicking performances with fair payment.

* working together with live jazzbands and bigbands in Belgium and abroad.

AUDITIE SOLO/DUO:
* short talk / round of question

* option to present a jazzroutine, like Shim Sham, Tranky Doo,.. on original music or own choosen music. duration max 1 min

*option to present own choreography. duration max 1 min

* option Social dance
